Dear Parents and Carers,
As you may be aware Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) fund the four Children’s Centres in the town (Pen Green, Kingswood, Exeter and Woodnewton). NCC have asked the four Children’s Centres to work together to develop a locality model of working, ensuring we maintain high quality services across all four Children’s Centres.
We have a commitment to keeping specialist services, ensuring what we offer meets the needs of the families in the town. We will also try, where possible, to continue to offer drop-in type groups for all families to access. The locality model across the four Children’s Centres will help us to ensure we do not duplicate services and we make the best use of the skills and expertise of the staff teams.
As we move forward with developing the locality delivery model we will always ensure we keep you informed of what services are on offer and where they will be running.
What does this mean for Pen Green and Kingswood
As well as developing the new locality model across Corby many parents at Pen Green and Kingswood have recently completed evaluations for us. Thank you to all of those that gave us their feedback. We have used this feedback to carry out a detailed analysis of what parents want and need. We have listened to your feedback and reviewed the groupwork programme using the locality model to plan a new groupwork programme.
Making these changes to the groupwork offer at Kingswood and Pen Green will ensure that we continue to provide parents with a range of groups to access across the week. The new groupwork programme will start the week commencing 18th September 2017. You can pick up a copy of the new programme in reception at Kingswood or Pen Green.
To support the groupwork programme we will continue to train and support volunteers and community members to assist us with the running of groups across the Centres.
Please see our Facebook page, website or reception area for more information about the groupwork programme.
